John Chrastka is founder and executive director of EveryLibrary, the first Super PAC for libraries. Since 2012, EveryLibrary has provided pro-bono support to 63 library communities with ballot measures and tax referendum, helping win well over $220 million in stable tax funding. He is a former Board president of the Berwyn (IL) Public Library and RAILS, the Reaching Across Illinois Libraries System. Alison Macrina is a librarian, internet activist, the founder and director of the Library Freedom Project, and a core contributor to The Tor Project. Laura Lauzen-Collins earned her Masters and Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh where she studied both health and social psychology. Her early work in graduate school focused on the the importance of perceived control on the connection between stress and the immune system and then later on she shifted to the importance of perceptions on burnout. She has taught psychology at a number of Chicago area universities and colleges including DePaul, St. Xavier, North Central College and Lewis University. She has been at Moraine Valley Community College for 10 years focusing on social and developmental psychology courses.

Troy is the author or editor of several books and articles including co-editor of Not Just Where to Click: Teaching Students How to Think About Information which received the Ilene F. Joseph Janes is Associate Professor at the University of Washington Information School. A frequent speaker in the US and abroad, he is the author of several books, including Library 2020, and has written a monthly column for American Libraries magazine since 2002. He is the creator and host of Documents That Changed the World, a popular podcast series on the cultural impacts of historic documents. He holds the M.L.S. and Ph.D. from Syracuse University, and has taught at the University of Michigan, the University of Toronto, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the State University of New York at Albany as well as at Syracuse and Washington.

And he has contributed in a remarkably wide range of ways, as the author of books that have made a difference; a writer for journals from Wired, Scientific American, and Harvard Business Review to TV Guide; an acclaimed keynote speaker around the world; a strategic marketing VP and consultant; a teacher; an Internet advisor to presidential campaigns; an early social networking entrepreneur; the co-director of a groundbreaking library innovation lab; a researcher at Harvard’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society, at the Harvard Shorenstein Center for Media, Politics, and Public Policy and at the US State Department as a Franklin Fellow; and always a passionate advocate for an open Internet. Dr. Weinberger’s doctorate is in philosophy from the University of Toronto.

William B. Badke is Associate Librarian at Trinity Western University, Canada, with responsibility for information resources and research training at the Associated Canadian Theological Schools. He is author of numerous articles and the widely used textbook, Research Strategies: Finding your Way through the Information Fog, 4th ed. William also writes as an information literacy columnist for a trade magazine. He has taught research processes for 25 years.

Steve O’Connor is a seasoned international speaker, workshop presenter, editor, writer, consultant and, of course, librarian. He wrote the book on scenario planning for libraries and other organizations (Imagining Your Library’s Future Chandos which is now also being published in the Chinese language by the National Library of China). His latest book is titled Library Management in Disruptive Times (published by Facet). He is a long standing journal editor (Library Management), the author of over 70 articles and a frequent presenter at international library and information management conferences. Most recently, he has been working on a feasibility study for advanced leadership at Charles Sturt University where he is an Adjunct Professor. Steve’s passion is to foster creative and dynamic imaginative communities that deliver positive and measureable results for their Library’s customers. Understanding that there are many paths to the Future is crucial for choosing well and to dealing, in an engaged fashion, with change management.
