Following the format put forth by Lifehacker, this is how I work. I’m limiting this to how I work on the podcast, not in my normal, full-time job.
Location: Lawrenceville, GA (suburb of Atlanta)
Current gig: Podcaster (Branch Manager by day)
Current mobile device: iPhone 6
Current computer: iMac (mid-2007(!))
One word that best describes how you work: Casual
What apps/software/tools can’t you live without?
Skype, eCamm’s Call Recorder for Skype, Blue Yeti microphone, GarageBand, iPad mini + iRig microphone
What’s your workspace like?
Little corner of my living room at home.
What’s your best time-saving trick?
Making editing notes as I go along, rather than listening back through the entire episode to do edits.
What’s your favorite to-do list manager?
Paper and pen! Digitally, I use Vesper for my note-taking needs.
Besides your phone and computer, what gadget can’t you live without?
What everyday thing are you better at than anyone else?
I’ve been pretty good at producing the podcast on a consistent basis for the past 4 years, which not a lot of podcasts seem to be able to do!
What are you currently reading?
Girl on a Wire by Gwenda Bond
What do you listen to while you work?
Just the audio I’m recording or editing!
Are you more of an introvert or an extrovert?
Introvert, totally. That’s why all of my answers here are so short. 🙂
What’s your sleep routine like?
I’m asleep by midnight and up by 7:00am (usually earlier) with my kids.
Fill in the blank: I’d love to see ______ answer these same questions.
Every guest I’ve ever had on the show.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
“Stop and think before you act.”
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
I do the podcast because I believe in the future of libraries, and I hope my listeners are learning as much as I am along the way!
