Wyoming game warden Joe Pickett faces two different kinds of rampaging beasts—one animal, one human—in this riveting new novel from #1 New York Times bestseller C.J. Box.

A rogue grizzly bear has gone on a rampage—killing, among others, the potential fiancé of Joe’s daughter. At the same time, Dallas Cates, who Joe helped lock up years ago, is released from prison with a special list tattooed on his skin. He wants revenge on the people who sent him away: the six people he blames for the deaths of his entire family and the loss of his reputation and property.

Using the grizzly attacks as cover, Cates sets out to methodically check off his list. The problem is, both Nate Romanowski and Joe Pickett are on it.

C. J. Box is the author of twenty-four Joe Pickett novels, eight stand-alone novels, and a story collection. He has won the Edgar, Anthony, Macavity, Gumshoe, and two Barry awards, as well as the French Prix Calibre .38, the Western Heritage Award for Literature, and two Spur Awards. An avid outdoorsman, Box has hunted, fished, hiked, ridden, and skied throughout Wyoming and the Mountain West. He has been executive producer on shows based on his books, including ABC TV’s Big Sky and Joe Pickett on Paramount+.

  1. too bad both series were cancelled. But if your name isn’t Taylor Sheridan I guess Hollywierd can’t use you.

  2. i didn’t enjoy this book. It is time to find a new nemesis other than Dallas. No character development for the deputy sheriff (I think), Hewitt’s son-in-law. Joe needs to learn something about computers. I didn’t think the attacks sounded believable at all. I didn’t enjoy the demise of main characters. I will be ready for the next book, but I sure hope it’s better.

  3. I was pretty disappointed at the shows cancelation. But you don’t need cables and Edison for a book. Thank you Mr. Box for continued good reading!

  4. My First Book In The Joe Pickett Series…And My Last!

The basic premise of the most recent book in this series intrigued me enough to read it even without having read any of the preceding books. Box provides enough of a background into the cast of characters to enable me to feel that I didn’t lose much by starting with the last book first.

My general disappointment with Three-Inch Teeth is due to a number of factors: (1) After an exciting beginning, the plot dragged for too much of the book; (2) Box’s execution of the plot required a suspension of disbelief beyond which I was willing to give; (3j The ending left too many loose threads resulting in a cliffhanger ending, which I have no intention of reading about in the next book, (4j I found the characters to be two-dimensional at best, and (5) by the time I came to the end the only character I was interested in learning more about was the bear.

  5. I was disappointed in this book. It seemed draggy in so many places. The characters just werent as in-depth as in past books. Hope the next one is better
